How To Clean Tilt-In Double Hung Windows

1.) Open the bottom window sash approximately 1/3 of the way.

2.) Release the tilt latches, and tilt the window towards you until it rests on the window sill below.

3.) Despite all photos you may have seen, DO NOT HOLD THE WINDOW in your hands while cleaning! Doing so could dislodge the window balance shoe from the frame. This will make it difficult to put the window back into place and lock properly.

4.) Simply allow the window to rest on the sill. Clean. Then tilt window back up and snap into place.
